The Club is born – Batley first played (as they still do) on the Mount Pleasant arena at the top of the hill, just a mile or so from the main shopping centre in the town. A team which first donned in cerise and fawn colours and justly earned for the club the nickname of ‘The Gallant Youths’.

BISSA was formed during September 2003 after a number of supporters had become concerned about the Batley Bulldogs lack of activity in the transfer market during a time when their survival in the National League division 1 was in serious doubt.
