Once again our Pink Weekend will be taking place over the weekend of 19/20th August. As yet we do not know who we will be playing but we have asked the Rugby League for a home fixture and they have indicated they will try to arrange this

Over the past 3 years our Club has raised £30,000 for Breast Cancer Charities and every penny raised has been donated. Each year our fans dig deep for a wonderful cause and the Pink Weekend has become part of the Bulldogs annual calendar, and long may that continue.

This year will start actually on Friday 18th August with our “Cake and Coffee” afternoon which is the perfect way to launch the weekend so put that in your diary and come along for some lovely homemade cakes

On Saturday morning we will have the usual family 10k stroll starting at 10am. Each year the age range of the participants is amazing and the half way stop for a liquid refreshment is always welcome. Sponsor forms will be available but we are asking people to donate £3 each to take part to cover those that are unable to get sponsors and again every penny does count

Whilst the walkers are walking, at the Club Batley Boys will be hosting an all day tournament  and there will be stalls, slides, bar  and kitchen facilities available so even if you can’t take part in the walk call up at the Club as there will be plenty going on.

At 6pm that evening it’s the return of “The Pink Pig Race Night” and for those that haven’t attended this family fun evening then you have missed an hilarious night. Pork sandwiches will be available to buy and of course the bar will be open. All ages are welcome and the children especially love to see the pigs racing down that track shouting for their favourite one, please try and come

On Sunday 20th August, again there will be a couple of Batley Boys games in the morning and there will again be stalls and childrens slides etc but then we will have the Pink Match with our team playing in their one-off Pink kit. The demand for these kits each year grows with orders being placed at the end of the match for the following year. Most kits have been sold for this year but if you speak to Beverley she can tell you if there are any left if you are interested and at a cost of £50 a kit they are indeed a bargain.

By now most would have seen the Pink tops sporting a lovely bra and cleavage and these are available from the Doghouse so again please support the cause and get one and wear with pride

Finally there will be the 10k walk from London Broncos to Wembley on Challenge Cup weekend. We are hoping that this will bring in even more money for the Charity and put Batley Bulldogs in the news. If you are taking part then please wear Pink and if you are interested in taking part then again contact Kevin or Beverley

This year we hope to raise as much as other years, if not more, and hope our wonderful fans will become involved as usual. Don’t forget everyone knows someone who has been affected by this cruel disease and we need to try and find a cure
